Denver's roofing rules are the strictest in the corridor: a company license, and behind it a person holding a Roof Covering and Waterproofing supervisor certificate. Those requirements belong to the City and County of Denver. They stop at its boundary. Aurora is a different jurisdiction.
Contractors working the metro after a hailstorm say "Denver licensed" because it is true and it sounds reassuring. It is not the answer to the question you asked. Colorado Springs and the Pikes Peak region
A passed ICC contractor exam is required, and licenses from other jurisdictions are not accepted.
The Pikes Peak Regional Building Department accepts ICC National Standardized or ICC Colorado Standard exams passed on or after January 1, 2017. A contractor licensed in Denver is not thereby licensed here.
What to ask: Ask for the PPRBD license number and verify it on the department’s license status lookup.
